Technical Trainer

 

Location: Agana, Croatia (9 months Med support/3 months Caribbean support)

We are seeking a Technical Trainer to help strengthen and develop our technical teams worldwide. The role will

primarily involve delivering training in the Mediterranean for nine months of the year, with the remaining three

months based in a Caribbean location. This position requires flexibility for regular and operational travel as

needed.

 

What you will be doing

• Work closely with our Technical Training Manager to deliver our in-house Technical Academy training

courses using a variety of methods, including in-person workshops, e-learning modules, and on-the-job

training sessions.

• Coordinate with our technical suppliers and L&D team, to organize and facilitate supplier training

sessions.

• Evaluate the success of training courses through the analysis of participant feedback, performance metrics,

and business outcomes, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

 

• Remain within the training budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources while maintaining high-

quality training standards.

 

• Create and share business cases for additional investment on training programs.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and update our in-house training materials, ensuring

content accuracy and relevance.

• Contribute to the enhancement of our global Online Technical Academy learning page by creating digital

support documents; and sharing relevant content for upload.

• Collaborate with L&D Team to schedule training sessions, whilst considering daily operations and

minimizing disruption to customer delivery.

• Help cultivate a culture of learning and development within the technical population, promoting the value

of continuous skill enhancement and professional growth.

• Stay abreast of emerging trends, and best practices in training and development, incorporating innovative

approaches into our training programs.

 

• Work with the recruitment team to create and implement selection and assessment strategies to drive

quality of hire.

• Collaborate with the Technical Training manager and Global Technical Director to understand any

changes to technical skillset, based on new yacht developments, and ensure training programs are planned

and ready for launch.

• Understanding and use of digital technical maintenance platform ‘Sailsense’, and ongoing training support

to embed and enhance proper use across global technical team.

• Work with operations managers to ensure integration and embedding of training outcomes into everyday

operations and skill application.

• Operations and technical support in customer operations on weekends, and during peak/busy periods.

This will include dock work and turnaround support. Regular days off may fall during weekdays.

• Any other reasonable tasks as requested by line management.

 

What we are looking for

• Proven experience in delivering training programs, across multicultural and diverse teams, with

different educational backgrounds.

• Technical Engineering qualification of B Eng or M Eng or equivalent practical experience

• Experience in the marine leisure industry

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Collaborative mindset with the ability to build effective relationships and work cross-functionally to

achieve shared goals.

• Proven experience of embedding change

• Experience working as a Marine Technician in a Customer facing environment.
